to add another item to the list of IM clients I use, I have started using Google Talk. username same as on here. if anyone needs a gmail invite then i do have 50.
Google Talk is based on Jabber, the only real IM standard, which is really good as it means that I can use gaim to connect already, without someone having to hack it. Woo.

Woo, jabber
I have been trying to keep my eyes open for a decent jabber server for a while, perhaps a google one would fit the bill especially if they get round to installing gateways, at which point I could ditch MSN, hooray!
So, can I have an invite please?

Lord knows I have enough email addresses already (for all practical purposes an infinite number).
I have been wanting to move to jabber since I got Tiger but every time I look into it I get bogged down by the question of which server I sign up to, I suspect google will be a good option especially as most of my contacts will probably be on the same server.
I can't wait for the day when I can do without running iChat and AdiumX at the same time, depending on who I am talking to.

Centericq 0.4.21 works with gTalk
(Anonymous) 2005-09-12 01:19 pm (UTC)(link)I know the new version has support to GTalk. The problem for me is the configuration, I can't do this. ;) But I have one hour looking for.

Configuration is easy. Well once you realise you have to put the full email addy in for the username it is anyway ;)
