[livejournal.com profile] vjbseven and [livejournal.com profile] lost_species paid a flying visit to london this afternoon: was good to see them again. we went to camden and also we saw SNAKES ON A PLANE. i can exclusively reveal that there were indeed SNAKES on the PLANE. although y'know, what was the deal with the first 20 minutes of the movie and the last 5? i think it would have been better with just the middle section.

was the last 5 minutes added material or do you think it was part of the original film. It sounds like it would work if was a mad Hong kong movie with martial arts guys and Ronney Yu the original director did do a few of those types of films before moving to hollywood or thereabouts.
I decided my position on this film is that they keep saying you just have to turn your brain off but I don't have to turn my brain off for the Clangers or Danger mouse so why should I pay £6 to go see it if they can't even reach the level of a childrens show.

i'm sure the last five minutes was originally there - it's just that it didn't have any snakes or really any plane (except in the background). it was interesting when samuel l. jackson said the added in later line "I'VE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES ON THIS MOTHERFUCKING PLANE" there was no background (or rather the background was really really really out of focus), that was quite an obvious drop in. i didn't notice any other bits like that.

oh, it was quite educational and far from the most stupid movie ever. snakes! on a plane!

that line was in the trailer shown on tv without the motherfuckin bits of course. One can't help feeling that samuel ahs been repeating stuff from the tarantino films in all his films ever since as thats how people recognise him (theres an entire section in imdbs bio about how people always think he's lawrence fishburne and that lawrence played his parts in films, major difference being tha larry has appeared in apocalypse now)
