A question for cat owners

Where is the most odd place your cat has hidden? Where does it like to hide?

Non-cats also acceptable.

Thanks. :)

My cat hid in the warm tumble dryer and we didn't notice. We went on holiday for a week thinking she was sulking because the suitcases were out.

luckily the catsitter found her the next day.

Toby follows me around my flat. When he was a kitten I left the living room to make a coffee and in the process lost him. I called his name and could hear him meowing but I couldn't find him anywhere. Finally found a cold kitten sitting on a shelf in the fridge looking rather sorry for himself.

My mum's house has a range fireplace type thing with ovens. It doesn't really get that hot but it does get nice an warm. The top oven is quite small but nicely cat sized and our neighbour's cat use to sleep in there (the door was off due to part of it being broken).

This same cat also climbed up the chimney in my brother's room and got out onto the roof and was stuck there most of the day covered in soot until someone managed to get a very high ladder and balance on top of it. He'd gone to the very high back side of the house and wouldn't move from there - if he'd have gone to the front he could have probably jump down himself as it's not very high.

We had a cat that used to happily sleep on a cactus with inch long spines. We also had another that used to sleep on top of high places, like my wardrobe. She could get up there no problem by jumping from a chair but would have problems getting down and would quite often jump on you as you walked passed unsuspectingly. She'd normally be covered in dust from being up there too.

Smokey tends to hide under my bed, or under a radiator on the landing, where he can't be seen as the light-fitting has failed for some reason we've not figured out yet... but he generally doesn't seem to wish to hide, he seems to have to be near either me or Nat most of the time, either on the end of our beds whilst we sleep or on the floor near our rooms as long as there is a hot pipe/radiator near it...
