in London. started to unpack. didn't get to watch Dr Who last night. not got wireless working either yet (the builtin card crashes with exciting IRQ errors : or rather lack of IRQ errors - this is the pci age not 1995!) and the random dongle that came with the room crashes when i compile and insert the driver. funfunfun. startingtomorrow.

Wireless on linux can be fun. If you've got the details of the card and dongle I can have a look for you. Which distro are you using - debian?

I've got my zd1211 dongle working in Ubuntu. (zd1211 is the cheapo usb dongle chipset). Ubuntu comes with the driver pre-compiled however.

yeah, it's the zd1211 thingy. using fc4 atm - going to try ubuntu, see if that helps.

k - there are two different driver packages. Zydas released their official driver - and there is also a re-written driver community (which is described as not stable but I think is the driver Ubuntu Dapper Drake ships with).
