started reading Jem by Frederick Pohl.

i no longer have a flat in leicester : the keys were handed back in on friday. eek.

try The Space Merchants By Pohl and Kornbluth where the future is ruled by marketing people and advertising is the highest profession. Or Gateway where a space station has been discovered where there are numerous ships preprogrammed to destinations which can lead to wealth, adventure and sometimes death.
Thats assuming that you can find these books. Some of my favourite books are no longer available and in the case of Exodus from the long sun by Gene Wolfe went out of print while i procrastinated over reading books 2 and 3 arrrrgggghhhh.
