[livejournal.com profile] vjbseven and [livejournal.com profile] lost_species are visiting London this week; met up with them this evening and, since they were in need of real ale, took them to the Pembury. We then came back to mine, watched assorted DVDs, and drank a purple thing which tastes of oranges.

I just caught up with listening to Sunday's episode of Doctor Who. This was really good: fast moving, witty, cliche-inverting (it's called Human Resources and has the Cybermen is it, but this does not mean what you might think!), and at the core of it a somewhat thought-provoking SF idea that has been mangled into silliness. huzzah! and good for Big Finish/BBC7 for managing to get a sarcastic, quick-witted companion (in Lucie) to air before the TV people did (in Martha). linky to listen to it looking forward to part 2!

Parfait amour! Gosh, I MISS that stuff. I must acquire another bottle of it, I know where supplies it in London.

yep, that's the stuff! it is nice indeed. i have no idea where i got it from, except that i guess someone brought it for a party and left it with me. i must hold more parties: they clearly are a great way of getting unusual alcohol. :)
