Yup, she sure does, it only gets more confused in the next one... I mean, the plot goes on OK, but the characters seem to change wildly to fit whats going on at the time...
I keep hoping that Harry will point out to Snape that he (Harry) is not his father (James).
Snape's behaviour even so far as book 5 is odd. He must know that Malfoy was a Death Eater of his own volition, and not due to the Imperius curse. Yet he tolerates him and his son quite happily. This leads to the conclusion that he is doing a kind of double-agent thing, even then. And if he's just been a Voldemort spy all this long, he hasn't done much with his position. He is obviously a very good double-agent, if even we can't tell what side he is on.
