riak, lost_species, grim_tim and drjane came round to admire my blinds. they are cream and i indeed took photos of them (and of the flat with all the furniture in) but don't have a USB cable with me.
they do not keep the light out sufficiently, so will have to beg to be allowed to install curtains in the bedroom as well. with the blinds closed, there is still enough light in the room to read by! i did manage to sleep there overnight, but brokenly, waking up at 2am and then 5am and never really getting back to sleep again.
