the gas meter is mounted outside of our house in a box, which seems to be fibreglass (!) in order to get low enough to read it without sitting down on the wet gravel, i had to lean on the box.
the rash has come down nicely now since then. i have no idea whether it was the fibreglass, or the lichen growing on it, or what.
