the number 29 bus has claimed my wallet (and 35 quid) for the second time in a year. grrrrrrrrrrr. almost certainly stolen, right out of my bag.
cancelled card. reported it to the met (unlike last time, when I couldn't be bothered). bastards. i was looking forward to a nice relaxing evening and now there is all this stress.

Date: 2008-06-02 08:08 pm (UTC)Might be a stupid idea but have you thought about getting a chain on your (next)wallet so you can attach it to your jeans/inside of your bag?

Date: 2008-06-03 07:01 am (UTC)My mother lost her purse and £100 a few months ago: the policeman said about a dozen people reported being pickpocketed that day. It seems a whole team had descended on the town en-masse for one day.
I always keep valuables in zip-up or buttoned down pockets. But that's because I'm cycling and I don't want my things to be scattered all over the road if I take a spill. But I know that's not always possible.
Perhaps we should just have wallets with small Claymore mines, that can be detonated under remote control once we doscover they're missing.
