Mixed night.

Went to meet lady_miamew at Jacey's ahead of Retribution. Then I got to one of these random branching points in life. I chose to go left into the left-hand bar to look for her, and circled round to the back, into the right-hand bar, walked past the pool table, and got some horrific abuse shouted at me by some chav scumbags who were playing pool. Utterly shaken, I found Abi and sit down and nearly started crying.

Went to Retribution reasonably soon after that. Lots of people out tonight, particularly good to see Emma who I'd not seen in ages... Had fun dancing in my new boots, although my feet now hurt. (they are barely big enough. hopefully they are broken in now, although it feels like it's my feet that have been broken in). At Retribution, I got a random compliment from some guy - he came up to me, said something like that I was looking the best that he'd seen me looking, and then vanished. It is strange how people's reactions to me vary.

Rather tired now, and my feet hurt. I think next week I'll be wearing my nice oversize flat work boots.

Chav scum are just jealous and resentful that you're a person, because chavs are made out of kits. Don't collect the whole set.

Abi suggested it was caused by me walking uncomfortably in the boots cos they hadn't been broken into yet, or that their comment was aimed at someone else entirely. However, since it was so cruel and seemingly targetted, I don't buy that. This is making me quite paranoid as it implies people generally lie to me.

Person A does not shout abuse at person B because person B deserves abuse. Person A shouts abuse because person A is an asshole. Simple as that. Abi has a point about the boots - you're quite shy anyway, add new-boot-walk and you probably seemed very uncertain. Easy target for abuse from scum.
You know they're just random scumbags, don't give them or their foul mouths another thought.

thinking about it, it's not what they said that bothers me, but that it occurred to them to say it.

I still stand by what I said last night and I am still amazed that anyone would have thought that. I also think, as I said last night, that the comment was meant as "funny insult", but them not really thinking it. If that makes sense. I don't want to say too much here.
Could probably explain more in person.

I guess it says something I don't get this very often. There was one similar incident in Germany a couple of years but they were speaking German so I didn't really understand what they were saying. (and am glad of it).
