having fun with maps.google.co.uk. So far I have discovered that :

It doesn't deal very well with house numbers. "10 Downing Street, London" does not produce a useful result. It doesn't find the two nearest chinese places, but does find the nearest chippy. It has a strange idea of where Elephant and Castle is (Bronti Close apparently), and doesn't know about the London Congestion Charge.

It has icons for tube and mainline stations in London, but not in Leicester (though it does show tracks everywhere).

It's pretty good, tried searching for chippies and chinese around my home town of Blaenau Ffestiniog and it worked well. Did find some errors though, one of the chippies had it's name spelt wrong and there were also some errors with the roads having incorrect labelling and showing connections where there weren't.

I'm looking forward to having the satellite images to play with like they have on the US version. Looking at Vegas with it's grid system for the roads made it look just like Sim City :)

Ooh, also noticed that the railway magically vanishes (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=LL41&ll=52.994049,-3.936363&spn=0.005287,0.009808&hl=en)! The railway actually carries on for another 5 miles or so towards the [currently being decommissioned] nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd.

Well, you can't just let anybody know about rail lines to nuclear power stations...
